Let's be honest for a second

It's time to break up with your reusable towel.

The towel on your rail has been damp since Tuesday. This is clean cotton on your skin every single time. Soft enough for reactive skin, and gorgeous enough to leave out on the counter.

Your towel is part of your skincare routine.

  1. cleanse

    Your routine, unchanged.

  2. pat dry

One fresh towel. Crisp cotton, untouched until you unfold it.

  3. toss it

100% cotton, biodegradable. Gone for good.

About 9 out of 10 reusable towels carry acne causing bacteria.

One use. Then it's gone, and so is everything on it.

what skin experts are saying:

"Bacteria, fungus, dead skin cells, oils and other debris can collect on the towel, which can up your risk of skin infections, acne flares, and irritation."

Sejal Shah, board-certified dermatologist in New York City

"Towels kept next to a shower, particularly if multiple people are showering in one day, stay damp and can grow yeast or mold. This is why it's important to have a separate towel set aside for drying your face."

Lily Talakoub, board-certified dermatologist in Virginia

"These Face Cloths are incredible soft — truly the only single-use towels that feel gentle on my skin. ”

The fine print, in real talk.

isn't single-use wasteful?

Fair question, and the honest answer is that it depends what you compare it to. A cotton towel gets washed in hot water two or three times a week for years. Ours is 100% cotton and biodegradable, so it breaks down rather than sitting in landfill. No microplastics, no detergent, no dryer.

why not just wash your towels more often?

You can, and it still will not solve it. A towel is damp for hours after you use it, and damp cotton in a warm bathroom is where bacteria multiply. By the time it is dry enough to be safe, you have already used it again.

will these irritate sensitive skin?

They are made for reactive skin. Fragrance-free, dye-free, 100% cotton, and soft enough to pat rather than drag. If your skin flares at everything, this is the least eventful thing you will put on it.

what does your towel have to do with acne?

More than you would think. Reusable towels carry, harbour and trap bacteria, and that bacteria can lead to breakouts, acne and irritation. A towel stays damp for hours between uses, which is exactly the condition bacteria need.

Switching to single use gives you a clean towel every time, so none of it goes back onto your skin. That matters most right after you cleanse, or straight after a treatment, when you have just done the work of getting your face clean.
